| The first edition is in the 44th year of Meiji era. It is one of the typical works written by Iha Fuyu. (1876~1947), a monumental work of Okinawalogy’s establishment. Mr. Iha who had come home to the unjust treatment and the non-reason for the Okinawan people in the Meiji Government and the rule by the Satsuma Clan learnt the “Omorosaushi” in order to know Okinawa, and seek the history, check the language and the folklore. The “Old Ryukyu” is a thing that he edited the research paper of Mr. Iha, he added the positive research thought about the song of a detached island, icluding the history of Okinawa and language and the “Omoro”. It can be said to be one book which condensed the trace that he gave a big influence on the history and the folklore, and became “a father of Okinawa logy”. | |
