MACHU PICCHU, TWO CULTURES

Having seen the sculptures on the Machu Picchu mountains, the next question is whether these are made by the Inca's the builders of the city, or from an earlier civiliazation. The following gallery tries to answer this question, first by noting that there are two kind of stones in Machu Picchu: the relatively regular stones that are the building blocks of the buildings, and secondly there are irregular stones that on first impression seem natural debris of geological processes. The gallery below addresses the relation between these two kind of stones.

Having seen the pictures, it is highly probable to almost certain that the irregular stones have a place of honor or worship in the culture of the builders of the buildings. This makes it probable that if these irregular stones are partly artificial, they are the remnants of an earlier civilization.

So if the images on the mountain are related to the irregular stones, which is more probable than that they are related to the regular building blocks of the buildings due to the observable stylistic similarities and differences, then the images on the mountains are also, at least partly, from a civilization preceding the builders of the buildings, the Inca's. An important factor in this discussion is the possibility of the irreguler stones in the city also carrying hidden images. Many of them give the impression they do, but this has to be confirmed by other pictures.
