| One usually concentrates on the stylized figure of a condor
on the bottom of this small inner plaza. The overwhelming presence however
is that of the irregular image on the wall, that has some of the features of
a distorted face as known throughout South American culture, though the
distortions are so great that this interpretation is not certain. More
visible than with the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon is how
the Inca "brick" constructions are build upon the basis of natural looking
stone. The stylistic differences are such that it more probable that they
stem from different times and civilizations than not. |
